Introduction to INSULATOR:-

Transmission line conductor are bare and do not have any insulated coating over it. To maintain safety and necessary clearance between live conductor and metal structure of the support ,insulator are mounted .
These insulator provide insulation of high voltage wire with the metal structure and also provide support to the conductor.
Insulators are also used in providing support to the busbar conductor and other live high voltage equipment terminals. 

Insulator materials:-

These are the basic three types of material used to
make insulator:-


1.PORCELAIN
2.GLASS
3.SYNTHETIC RESIN

So You must have this question in your mind that Does Lightning and sound is produced at the same time or not because Lightning is seen Before we heard Thunder Sound . So as shown in above image We can understand that lightning and sound have a lot a difference between their respective speed and the Winner is light as it has more speed than of Sound and it is the answer to your question.  Lightning is produced because negative charge collides with positive charge in clouds or sometimes with Ground which have positive charge. One more thing is that they both are produced at the same time. The sound is produced because the light have a lot of heat which replaces the cool air in the atmosphere and thus Thunder sound is produced...
